Our Daily Class Routine for Jan. 11 – 22 (Monday – Friday) with continued online learning in the same format as Jan 4-8:
We will have 3 class meetings a day (same link codes as Jan 4-8).
For each class meeting, please bring:
* 1-2 books (to view while waiting for classmates & the meeting start)
*If available – Writing tool & writing media
(ie. whiteboard w/marker OR chalkboard w/chalk OR paper w/pencil)
*Sometimes you need to bring other items to the meet, but we will remind you at the beginning or end of each meet about these items.
8:30 am – Language meeting (alphabet/language review)
9:30 am – Fitness Fun & Learning
1:00 pm – Math meeting (number/math reviews)
-At the end of every meet, if you have a questions or concern, you are welcome to stay on and speak with the staff. Alternatively, you can send a message via Seesaw and we are available to help out either on Seesaw or google meet.
-In between these meeting times, please work on the daily assigned seesaw math and language activities, along with the self-regulated play and the two nutritional breaks.
*Every week our seesaw assignments will include: Raz-kids; phonics duo tang pages; math duo tang pages; Epic book or other read aloud activity; along with some other seesaw activities related to our new math and/or language lessons. Plus, Ms. Spearman who does outdoor fitness with the students on Wednesdays will post a Seesaw fitness activity on that day.
Play is a large & very important part of our program. Students normally get outside twice a day. Plus, students self regulate and get to choose to: build with our indoor resources (lego, magna-tiles, mobilo, etc.); play games like bingo, cards, memory or Candy land or educational iPad games; create at the art centre with paint, play do and a variety of craft & art supplies; experience sensory items & tools – like sand or snow & shovels or water and measuring cups; do puzzles; experiment at our science centre; and use their imagination with a range of toys – kitchen centre, vehicles & ramps, dolls, dress up clothes and puppets.
*Typically, 1 of our seesaw activities will have an oral and/or written language component where we ask your child to share about these play experiences, but you are welcome to add more photos of their work to their seesaw journal.
**If your family chose option #2, please continue to participate in all the seesaw activities, including Raz-Kids and home phonics/math duo-tangs. Next week, we will also be providing some links that cover some of the new information we are sharing with students.
-If the timing ever works, please feel welcome to join one of our regular meetings.
If you have any questions, concerns or need some help with these activities, please send a seesaw message to staff.
